Bongile Mantsai is a 40-year-old South African actor, musician and dancer. He was born on 3 February 1982 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape Province in South Africa. Growing up in a small township of Kayamandi, Mantsai’s father was a pastor, giving him a musical background which is influenced by the church.
He received a 2018 SAFTA for Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film for his performance as Vija in the film Inxeba: The Wound. He made his e.tv debut on Scandal! on Monday, June 11, 2018, playing the evil Mthunzi Mayisa, the mistreated and vengeful son of domestic worker Dambisa (Khanyisa Bunu), who seeks retribution against the family who employ his mother.
